02 / COLOUR-CHANGE VINYL

Change the colour.
Respect the car.

The colour you want. The original assembly we respect. Our colour-change vinyl service keeps your vehicle’s parts in place—even when that means more time and care.

OUR NO-DISASSEMBLY APPROACH

We would rather
spend the time.

We do not believe a cosmetic colour change should involve unnecessary dismantling of your car.

Our approach is to work around original components, with extra attention to access, edges and finishing. A car can be new, carefully maintained or deeply personal. In every case, it deserves respect beyond the visible surface.

01

Keep original assemblies in place.

Door handles, mirrors and trim can involve fasteners, clips and electrical connections. Leaving components in place avoids the removal and refitting steps that our vinyl installation does not need.

02

Give the difficult areas time.

Working around fitted components can require more patient positioning and finishing. Convenience for the installer is not the priority we want to set for your car.

03

Be honest about the finish.

Some hidden edges, deep recesses or door openings cannot be fully covered with parts in place. We explain the agreed coverage and any visible original colour before you book.

Our commitment applies to colour-change vinyl.

We will not promise invisible coverage inside inaccessible areas. If your desired result cannot be achieved with our approach, we explain that before work begins.

WHAT A VINYL WRAP DOES

A different look.
A clear understanding.

Vinyl changes the visible colour or texture by adding a film over the existing surface. It gives you a styling choice without repainting sound original paint.

THE ADVANTAGES

  • Make the car feel like yours.

Explore solid colours, gloss, satin, metallic and special-effect finishes. We recommend looking at a physical sample in different lighting before choosing.

  • Change the appearance without a respray.

A wrap covers existing paint and can be professionally removed later. The condition of the paint underneath remains important.

  • A considered installation approach.

At G’ZOX Adelaide, colour-change vinyl is installed with vehicle parts in place. We spend the time on accessible edges and explain the scope.

THE TRADE-OFFS

  • Styling film is not PPF.

Vinyl may provide a covering against light surface contact, but it is not the service we recommend for stone-chip protection. Consider PPF when impact protection is the priority.

  • The finish follows the surface.

Dents, chips and poor paintwork do not disappear under film. Original colour may remain visible in unwrapped openings, inaccessible recesses and some gaps.

  • Removal and aftercare matter.

Film is not permanent paint. Sun exposure, care and the chosen finish affect ageing. Weak or repaired paint may lift during removal; assessment is essential.

CARE IS PART OF THE VALUE

The price covers
more than the film.

It includes the time spent understanding your vehicle, preparing the surface, planning the accessible edges and explaining the care afterwards.

We are not the cheapest. We do not claim to be the best. We keep working towards a better result, with respect for the car you trust us with.

THE DETAILS THAT MATTER

Before you change your colour.

Why be careful about dismantling a new car?

Components are not simply decoration. Depending on the model, removal can involve clips, connectors, refitting procedures or replacement fasteners. A new car deserves the same care with these details as an older one. Our choice is to avoid those steps for colour-change vinyl.

For example, Tesla’s published door-trim procedures include electrical connections and clip inspection or replacement. This illustrates why vehicle-specific procedures matter; it does not mean every removal causes damage.

Manufacturer procedure example
Does removing a part automatically void the vehicle warranty?

No. It would be misleading to say that every removal voids an entire vehicle warranty. Warranty terms, the work performed and the cause of a particular fault matter. Australian consumer guarantees also continue independently of a manufacturer’s voluntary warranty.

Our no-disassembly approach avoids unnecessary removal and refitting. It is not a guarantee of a manufacturer’s decision on a future claim. If your car is leased or under warranty, check the applicable terms before modification.

ACCC guidance on new-car warranties
Can you hide the original colour everywhere?

We agree the finish before booking. With components left in place, inaccessible areas, door jambs and some gaps may show the original colour. Your chosen colour, the original paint and the vehicle’s shape all affect how noticeable this is.

Is removal guaranteed to leave the paint untouched?

No installer can responsibly promise that for every paint surface. Previous repairs, weak clear coat, film age and removal methods matter. We discuss paint history and arrange an assessment before installation or removal.

Would colour PPF suit me better?

If you want a new colour and a physical layer for stone-chip protection, discuss colour PPF. If your priority is colour and texture, vinyl may be the more suitable starting point. Compare the actual products and scope, not only the colour name.
